How much does a standard monogram cost?
Standard fonts and images in our design book have set prices, which vary depending on how large the monogram is and how many total stitches. Total cost will be given at the time of ordering.

Do you do custom monogram designs?
Yes. If you provide artwork to be embroidered or choose to have a new image designed, there is a one time set-up charge for each custom design. This digitizing design charge begins at approximately $250.00.The digitizing process takes your jpeg image and directs the embroidery software where to sew stitches. If you want to reorder the same design at a later date, there will only be a price for the embroidery. You will not be charged again for the digitizing design fee.

Why do I have to approve the digitizing?
While Best Monogram’s art department is expert in digitizing, our interpretation of your image may not look like the image you have in your head. By approving your digitizing you are stating that you approve of not only the spelling of words etc, but the look and styling of the image.

Why do you sometimes require approval of samples?
If the colors of your embroidery are very important to you (for example, if you have corporate colors that all your marketing materials must match) Best Monogram recommends that you get a physical sample (called a sew-out) of the embroidery to approve before we go into production. This way you can be sure what your final product will look like.

What is your return policy?
No refund on monogrammed merchandise.

How do you choose what letters to monogram?
Consider the way you (or the person for whom you are monogramming) use your name socially. Some people use all four initials (all one size and in the order of first to last) or drop one of the middle initials for a three-letter monogram, with the surname initial appearing largest in the middle.
L, I, and K don't always look good large in the middle of a monogram. Instead, consider running the initials straight across, or use the last name.
As an alternative to the three-letter initial, try a single letter with two dots on each side. It's modern and sleek and can be passed down to other people.

What letters are chosen for wedding gifts?
Traditionally, the monogram consists only of the woman's initials, with her new last-name initial in the middle, larger. But of course you could use his and her first initials and their last initial in the middle.

What about for children?

What if my last name is hyphenated?
When using initials, all four letters appear the same size and in order. If you want your maiden and married initials to be larger and in the center, they should be hyphenated. Your first initial should be to the left and your middle initial to the right. Since most monogram styles are designed for three initials, ask to see a proof before making a decision.

How do I care for my embroidered garments?
All embroidered garments should be washed with a mild detergent.
Do not use chlorine bleach or optical brightening agents.
If bleach is required for washing, use non-chlorine bleach in accordance with product instructions .
Machine wash cold water.
Delicate wash cycle .
If color residue appears in water, rinse first in lukewarm water and then cold several times until rinse water becomes clear.
Remove promptly after wash cycle completion.
Never leave any piece of embroidered clothing soaking or in water or lying in a pile when wet.
Upon completion of washing cycle place articles immediately in dryer, use normal setting. (For best results, we recommend preheating the dryer.)
Do not wring out the embroidered articles.
Do not rub stained embroidery.

Can my garment be dry cleaned?
Embroidery may be dry cleaned, however, extreme care should be exercised when dry cleaning. Special care must be taken when dark shades are dry cleaned. Avoid use of pre-spotting agents.

Is it okay to iron embroidery?
Embroidered fabrics should always be ironed on the reverse side.
It is recommended to iron embroidery between two pieces of cloth.
It is not recommended to wet embroidery prior to ironing or to use a steam iron.
